The Azamara is the ship that will be taking us on the May 2011 Mediterranean Cruise. This cruise is a seven day total ship takeover and will be visiting ports in the western Mediterranean, including Rome, Florence, St. Tropez and Barcelona.  We were lucky enough to have one of our associates, Silvina, onboard the ship just a few weeks ago to check it out.  This is her report.

I wanted to share with you my experience on the Azamara Journey Ship- the same ship we have chartered for next year’s May 8th Mediterranean Cruise.

If I had to describe the Azamara Journey in 3 words I would have to say Marvelous, Delicious and Exclusive. I had the distinct pleasure of experiencing the Azamara Journey Cruise ship this past week first hand and I am 100% sure that we have chosen the perfect ship for next year’s Mediterranean Swingers Cruise.  As we all know The Journey hosts 350 staterooms, which are very well situated and spread out enough to allow a comfortable atmosphere while relaxing in your cabin yet enough space to invite that special couple over for a private rendezvous.  However, there is no need to stay reclusive in your stateroom, when there are so many public areas for everyone to enjoy, and that they will.  From the many bars located all over the ship, to the main pool with countless sun beds with the most plush and cozy sun bed covers you can experience.  For those who want a little R&R away from everyone, the top sun deck is perfect- 360 degree view of the Mediterranean ocean. 

The wonderful ports we will be visiting offer many different options for tours that range from short 2-3 hour tours, to the full experience 7-8 hour tours, either way the staff and guides that run the tours are experts in their own right, offering a vast array of knowledge about the region, history, food and culture, a must if you want to really enjoy everything our ports have to offer.  Our guests can also expect exciting and nonstop fun and entertainment, featuring a heart throbbing disco, sensual group and individual play areas, games and contests by the pool, outdoor parties, a thriving casino, sing a long bar and so much more.

You’re probably asking yourself, what about the food - what are the options and how often do we have them.  I was saving the best for last - Most places have divine food and subpar service or vice versa- I can say with no doubt in my mind that Azamara Journey offers not only outstanding food but outstanding service.  From dining in the main restaurant “Discoveries” with many people in an open seating concept to a more quite and intimate setting, guests will be able to enjoy delicious cuisine in the 2 specialty restaurants (minimal surcharge applies to guests NOT in suites) Aqualina and Prime C.  Most places charge a ridiculous surcharge for what is served in these 2 restaurants, however The Journey has really gone above and beyond with these two options, for only $15US per person per visit, our guests are going to enjoy dishes that include and are not limited to Filet Mignon, Angus Steak, Chilean Sea bass, Lobster, Seafood platters, Lobster bisque, Goat Cheese soufflé, pan seared diver scallops, an array of specialty salads, Foie Gras and not to mention the most amazing deserts - my favorite the chocolate soufflé.  Let’s not forget the 24 hour room service that is included and can be ordered through your TV monitor, doesn’t get easier than that.

Now of course with so much great food and drinks you may be asking how I can work it off. Well as if the obvious answer isn’t enough “The Playrooms”, there is always another option, the gym.  The equipment is in great shape and is equipped with all the basics to get you through a week’s work out and if you wanted a little extra help, the ship also offers the service of a personal trainer ($$)  and some classes that are included like yoga, Pilates, spinning and core training. 

Overall I have to say that I am very impressed with the services offered, the outstanding staff, the countless public areas and the eagerness to welcome our group next year to the ship by the management.  It was a pleasure to visit the ship and be able to promote this once in a lifetime trip with no doubt in my mind that this will be the best Swingers Cruise Party as of yet.
