Visited Caliente Caribe the last week of January 2010. There were not a lot of guests there, about 30 in all. We booked the Seacliff room and it was spacious and quiet, except for the fridge which made a lot of noise going on and off. The ocean view was fantastic. You can walk all along the cliff and watch for whales in the Atlantic. Some telescopes would be great in that area.
The staff is very friendly at this resort. If you take the time to talk to them you'll be on a first name basis in no time. The service was the best we've had in the caribbean. Patricia and Fernando are the managers, and very attentive they are. They are also very good with the staff. It felt like being with family.
The beach is small, and you will need water shoes to get in and out. The snorkeling is pretty good, though the coral is covered with sand. There is a volleyball pool as well as beach volleyball available, though it is hard with so few people to get teams together.
As a clothing optional resort, this is the best. Very laid back and quiet, with beautiful natural surroundings and respectful staff. It's easy to get into the mode. Hot tubs at two different locations offer a warm up if the breeze gets a little brisk. Most people dressed for dinner at the main restaurant, though it's not mandatory. Lots of the girls got into the theme nights too.
We plan to return next year. It was great!
