Ponce, Puerto Rico

Ponce, Puerto RicoPonce is a large city on Puerto Rico's southern coast. Its well-preserved old town features grand mansions built in the unique Ponce Creole architectural style, such as the Centro Cultural de Ponce Carmen Solá de Pereira. Nearby, the Museo de Arte de Ponce is famed for its huge European and Puerto Rican art collections. South, the seafront boardwalk of Paseo Tablado La Guancha is lined with restaurants and bars.

 

Points of Interest:

  • The beautiful downtown Plaza de las Delicias is a worthwhile stop, with lovely fountains, a cathedral and local bench sitting denizens.
  • The Caja de Muerto Lighthouse is a 19th century lighthouse. Restored by the Department of Natural Resources and house is a lookout and a museum.

 

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

  • Whether you're a history buff or just want to take in the scenery, be sure to visit the 350-year-old estate, Romney Manor, with its magnificent gardens, exotic plants and an amazing African Saman tree.
  • Explore Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park. Climb to the top of the main hill to take in amazing views of St. Eustatius and Sandy Point Town.
  • There are a number of ways to get around the island and enjoy all that it has to offer. Choose from hiking, horseback riding, segway, ATV, catamaran and so much more.
