Butts, Boobs and Boats is an event held in the Austin Texas area and according to their website, this year marks year number five. It's the first time we’ve heard of the event, but from the website it seems to be popular and the people seem to be having a lot of fun, so we’re sure it’s probably going to be a pretty good affair.

So you might appreciate our surprise when we came across the following email posted on a Yahoo user group, protesting the event. We were so amazed by this person’s rampage, that we simply had to include it in its entirety.  But in case you don’t want to wade through the entire email, let us summarize it for you.  The event (Butts, Boobs and Boats) according to this woman, is disturbing, the people attending have a complete breakdown of moral character, the event will be an all out “orgy”, the website is not suitable for viewing and pornographic, it’s an outrage, it is appalling, and to top it off, youngsters and teenagers may be attracted, attacked or enticed to participate. 

The narrow minded, bigoted, judgmental person who wrote this email was kind enough to provide her own email address. We suggest, if you are as offended by her as we are, that you send her an email telling her just what you think of her---please!  Her email follows, as written.

"Please allow me to introduce myself.  My name Lisa Schellenberg. (We) …have been brainstorming on addressing an issue that was brought to our attention last Friday by a fellow Lakeway resident.  The information was quite disturbing and required confirmation before I could wrap my brain around the whole idea.  I was able to confirm the situation, so I would like to make you aware of it as well and see if you would be willing to assist us in bringing this to the attention of our community.  This is something that every person, especially those with children of every age MUST be informed; however, it isn't limited to those with children as it is a complete breakdown in moral character and something that simply must not be allowed to continue with a stamp of approval.

"The Lakeway Resort and Spa will be hosting an event on July 9,10 and 11, 2010 referred to as "BB&B" which stands for Boobs, Butts and Boats.  It is a private event that has sold out to the degree that the overflow has been directed to The Hampton Inn.  The venue of this group is that of a "Swingers and Anything Goes Sexual Fetishes".  I have confirmed the existence of this group and exactly what they will be "participating in" during this event.  How can I say this without offense?  I can't.  I was told over the weekend that the group has been given legal permission to go topless, as long as genitalia is covered on all of Lake Travis during this time period.  As far as limiting the Inn, since it is private, it's pretty much anything goes.  I don't know what else to tell you the event will be except to describe it as an all out orgy and send you to their site to view the pictures from the previous conventions.  Use caution in confirming with your own eyes as the web pages are not suitable for viewing (there are photos from previous events which are pornographic in nature, there are no rules, no limits!).  The event has been spoken about over the air on KLBJ and is pretty much attracting a huge group of people to converge on Lakeway and the surrounding areas to participate.

"For this reason, our community needs to be aware of what their "lakefront property" will have in store for the people who call this area home. I have spoken to a couple of real estate agents/brokers who are very concerned and were completely unaware of the event as are most people in the area.  This is an outrage!  Every person, man, woman and child will be effected by the presence of this group.  God forbid someone gives their kids permission to go out on the lake that day!

"Can you help spread the word with regard to this event? We have less than a month to come together as a collective whole and oppose their presence.  If any grass-roots movement is to happen to stop this or make them so uncomfortable that they rethink it, we have to act now!  After the fact, will be too late.  This group may have been given the legal right to be present but that does not negate the legal rights of those who call Lakeway and the surrounding area home.  I for one will never again give any business my patronage that receives money from this group.  All the businesses who are profiting by bringing these customers into our neighborhoods should know that the people who support them the other 51 weeks of the year will not stand for it.  I am appalled at the level approval this group has received.  Are we going to allow this?

"Let's make certain every person has a say in this. Think of the community reputation we will be establishing for our willingness to allow these three days.  If they are well received they will be back.  In fact, they might just decide to make Lakeway their home too!  Think of the influence on our young people and the lifelong effect it could have if even one youngster or teenager is attracted, attacked or enticed to participate.  This burden will be on the shoulders of all who were made aware and chose to look the other way by permitting this all for the sake of not infringing on their rights and the desire of the businesses associated to make a buck!

Please, send this woman an email. Let her know that in her desire to protect society from what she sees as immoral activity, she is actually trampling on the rights of those people who chose to express their sensuality and sexual freedom differently.
