Report From Caliente

We’ve just finished the November 2010 Total Ship Takeover Lifestyle Cruise After Party at Caliente Tampa. Forty couples joined us for three days of eating, drinking, laying in the sun, partying and playing Caliente style.  If you haven’t visited clothing optional Caliente Resort and Spa in Tampa, you need to.  This place just keeps getting better and better.

We arrived by bus from the cruise ship terminal mid morning. Thankfully every room was ready, even though the resort had many guests in those rooms the night before.  That allowed us to drop our bags and head off to the club house and recreation center for a little fun in the sun R & R. 

Thursday evening we held the Dream Pleasure Tours meet and greet in the night club. All forty couples attended, picked up their goody bags, downed their free cocktails and wolfed down the excellent array of hot and cold appetizers.  Most of us were so full we skipped dinner, instead picking up a late night snack later in the evening.  We were also joined by a select group of couples who were on the cruise, but didn’t book a room because they already have a place at Caliente, or at one of the neighboring clothing optional resorts.  At 8:00 PM the night club opened up for Ladies Night, and the party continued with the ladies all drinking free until 10:00!  With our Dream Pleasure Tours gang, and the people who arrived afterward, the place was hopping until the wee hours.

Friday we woke to clear blue skies and a cool Florida morning that soon warmed up into the eighties. Most of us spent the day lounging by the pool, meeting other couples in the conversation pool (AKA large heated pool filled with naked people), or playing tennis or volley ball.  Some of the ladies hit the spa for a little rejuvenation-and it sure did the trick.  They all looked ravishing by the time we hit the piano bar for Caliente’s famous Friday night happy hour.  Later we rocked away in the night club then ended up in the Dream Pleasure Tours hospitality suite, an elegantly appointed three bedroom villa turned playroom.  Needless to say, we had a lot of fun.

Saturday was another gorgeous day and we were lucky enough to have lunch with the Caliente’s chief operating officer. While our guests spent another day by the pool, or in the spa, listening to the reggae bands and other entertainment in the pool bandstand, we learned a lot about what’s going on at Caliente—and it’s all great news!  Caliente’s expanding.  A new hotel building is planned with 120 rooms, private pools, private Jacuzzi, another restaurant and bar.  Even better, this new section will have playrooms on every floor.  If you thought Caliente wasn’t lifestyle friendly, think again.  The resort expects to break ground on this new addition soon.

Lunch also gave us a chance to ask about Caliente Caribe. We’ve always liked this resort and were glad to find out that new developments are planned there too.  The bluff top villa is being converted into a Collette style club (after the famous Collette’s in New Orleans).  Just a few steps away from the ocean villas, Caliente’s Collette’s will have a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and of course, playrooms.  Every evening Collette’s will open with fireworks, a signal for adventurous couples to head up the path to this garden of sensual delights.  We can hardly wait.

Saturday evening Aahz Party brought their brand of fun to the night club, and the party was rocking. After dancing and partying many guests made another visit to the hospitality suite and you can be assured that all three bedrooms saw plenty of action.  Some guests took advantage of the Caliente pools, which are open 24 hours, and can imagine what can happen when groups of naked people gather in the hot tub at 2:00 in the morning!

Sadly Sunday came all too fast. Almost everyone agreed that the three days at Caliente were a fitting end to a great vacation.  Best of all, none of the 40 couples we took to Caliente Tampa had been there before, and many were worried that the resort is not really lifestyle friendly. But it certainly proved otherwise.  We also had many comments from guests that the food at Caliente is great.  One client was raving about the Pasta alla Carbonara all night long!  And knowing how important food is to some of us, that’s wonderful news.
