Wow!  Talk about opening a can of worms. In our last broadcast email we mentioned that our vacations are not just for swingers and nudists.  We suggested that any couple with open minds who are curious, should try a Dream Pleasure Tours vacation.  I guess our hope was that some of those people we talk to from time to time who are on the edge and not sure if our type of vacation is for them, might be inclined to book a vacation with us, find they like it, and become repeat customers just—just like all of you reading this article!!

Well, we heard both sides after that email went out.  R & C responded with: I do strongly disagree with allowing "Vanilla" couples on a "lifestyle" Cruise. Kind of not fair to advertise as a lifestyle cruise then get on board talking to someone, only to find out that they are not swingers! So which is it, a cruise for vanilla people to snoop and gawk but not play? Just isn’t right and there are many others that feel the same way.  Send out an email survey and see what everyone is saying!

Thanks R & C.  But then we received these comments from M & S: This was a very interesting email!!! We are the sort of the people you addressed this to. We are not really swingers, but we love going naked and we love the sexual atmosphere of the cruise and indeed of swingers clubs in general. We are NOT shy and are happy having sex anywhere we can!! I guess we are a little exhibitionist!  We agree completely that the people we meet are friendly and everyone always seems so happy and relaxed. We met a number of people just like us. Interestingly some of them were actually happy that we brought up the fact we were not swingers. They felt that they were the only ones who weren't and didn't know how to broach the topic.  Just like us the reasons they gave for going on the cruise were that they loved the relaxed sexual atmosphere.  They enjoyed not having kids around, and some of them enjoyed, as we do, going naked and even playing around with each other in the playroom.

Okay.  Now you’ve heard both sides.  Now it’s my turn. First, we actually market most of our cruises and resort vacations as being clothing optional and lifestyle friendly.  Why? Because just like resorts such as Desire and Hedonism II, there are a certain number of people who travel with us who are nudists, but don’t necessarily participate in swinger type activities.  They like the clothing optional atmosphere, they like the swinger party atmosphere, and they like the fact that they can be sexy with each other in a way that you cannot be on most traditional vacations.  They are just are not going to swap. And frankly, to keep the cruises and resorts going, we need these people. But even then, we meet nudists all the time who say they are not swingers, but do enjoy endulging every once in a while.

Taking that to the next level, we have a lot of people who travel with us who are exhibitionists. Many love to have sex in the play room because they want to be watched, and perhaps watching others helps their own sexual experience.  Then we have many swingers who travel with us who don’t go naked and would never go to the play room.  They look for another couple, go back to their room or cabin, and do what they do in private.

For our smaller vacations, such as group contracts of 40 or 60 rooms, we actually go to great lengths to be sure that we have compatible people on a trip.  Believe it or not, people who describe themselves as being in the lifestyle or swingers vary considerably in their habits and expectations.  We know couples that travel three or four times a year, but might only hook up with one other couple all year long.  We know others who go on a trip and if they don’t have sex with two or three couples a day, are disappointed.   We have some groups that call themselves swingers that spend more time strutting in front of the mirror in their bikinis than having sex, and others who can’t stop having sex.

We believe that there would be many more swingers if more people experienced the types of vacations we sell. Most people get introduced to swinging at some club, where the booze is flowing, music is pounding on the dance floor, where it can be difficult to talk to other people. Then because the night is short its back into the playroom before you know it.  A lot of people find that intimidating. We have been told by many of our customers that their best experience with swinging was when on a lifestyle friendly vacation.  There is more time to get to know people, more time to get comfortable with the environment, and a greater chance that those people will participate at some point in time.

People do not come to the Dream Pleasure Tours website who are vanilla in the typical sense. These are people who are against sex or having sexually charged fun.  People seek out our website because they are looking for more.  They want to explore their sexuality, they want to test their limits, and they want to engage in their fantasies. And believe me, if they are not swingers, they are thinking about it.   We get dozens of calls a week from these types of people.  And many of them come on a vacation to explore their sexuality, because they don’t feel comfortable doing so in their local community.

We feel part of our job is to help these people ease their way into a place they really want to go. We want to make them comfortable.  We want to make them feel safe in their decision.  We have booked hundreds of non-swinger couples on lifestyle friendly vacations and we would say 90% end up participating.  The biggest worry that is expressed to us by people who want to try these vacations, is that the entire trip will be a naked orgy and that they will be expected to have sex with anyone and everyone, on demand.  Most of the non-swingers we book take a “if it happens, it happens” attitude. They are open minded.  Otherwise, they would not be going on these types of vacations. 

When a ship with 1,100 cabins sets sail, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have some of those cabins filled with people who are still testing the waters.  Who knows—you may be the very couple that turns on a newbie’s fantasy.  And we believe most of those people will end up participating—sooner or later.  When I ask people I meet if they are swingers, many have a hard time answering the question.  They often say—here’s how far we’ve gone, or this is what we’ve done before.  They seem open to trying this or that with the right couples, and are just trying to figure out what is right for them.

I’d like to think we are open minded enough that we not demand everyone who wants to join us, be in the exact same mind space as we are. If people take the time to find out who we are, I’m convinced most of the curious will be part of the party before too long.
